Tree House Farm

Christmas traditions

Ah Christmas, Hayden and Tristan are very excited.

Our current home is not very big and fitting a large Christmas tree in wasn't really going to work. So we're starting a new family Christmas tradition where we buy a live tree...as in one in a pot with roots and all!

We'll plant the tree on our property...by the time the boys are grown we should have a lovely shady forest to wander through made up of our Christmas trees.

If we increase our house size then we might go for a big tree...but still keep the tradition of buying a live one to plant out in the new year ;)

This years tree is a Norfolk pine:

We found the mirror in this picture at a second hand store.

Update 2018

We couldn't find a pine tree (native or otherwise) this year at our local stores. So we got a lovely Grevillea instead and decoreated it.

I compromised with the boys and agreed to a 'reuseable' tree that we managed to get half price (thanks Spotlight!) They both enjoyed deocrating both the trees and the house :)
